Scallops with Wine Sauce

Simple, non creamy sauce for broiled sea scallops. Chicken broth and white white are reduced with lemon juice, garlic, shallots, and melted butter.
Ingredients -
 

1/2 cup Chicken Broth
1/4 cup White Wine
1/2 Fresh Lemon, juiced
1 tablespoon minced Shallots
1 clove Garlic, minced
1/4 cup Butter
1 pound Sea Scallops
1 tablespoon Olive Oil
Sea Salt, to taste
Fresh Ground Black Pepper, to taste

 
Preparation:
 

1. Preheat the oven broiler.

2. Brush scallops with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper.

3. Place scallops on broiler pan or in baking dish.

4. Add chicken broth, white wine, lemon juice, garlic and shallots to small skillet.

5. Heat sauce over medium heat until most of the liquid has been reduced.

6. Stir in butter.

7. Broil scallops 2 minutes per side or until scallops are opaque.

8. Serve scallops hot with white wine sauce.

Choose a light bodied white wine you would open and enjoy drinking.
